Get Started    SNATCHBOT API

Duration Extraction

Collects and specifies numeric representations of time from the input of a user, converting it in seconds with millisecond precision.

Duration Extraction interaction can help you to collect a numeric representation of time from the users’ responses.

To create this interaction, click Add new interaction/plugin link from the bottom left of the screen and then select the ‘Duration Extraction’ interaction type. After that, specify the interaction name, e.g. ‘Reminder’. Click the 'Add' button to add the item to the bot’s structure:

For a better user experience, select ‘Highlight Extracted data in chat’ checkbox:

After that, you should specify Bot’s message along with an error response:

Here are examples of a valid data that bot will recognize:

When testing your bot, you can see that time specified by a user will be highlighted and recalculated in seconds or an error response will be sent to a user if the bot receives an invalid data format:

If needed, you can connect Duration Extraction interaction to the other types of the interactions. Additionally, if no conditions are met, bot can go to another interaction:
