Get Started    SNATCHBOT API

Conversation

Your Bot's conversation can not only consist of text, but also images, audio and video. And you can add Quick Replies, Buttons and a Persistent Menu to it as well.

The SnatchBot Platform supports the sending of several different types of messages. You can send text, images, video, audio and files. We've also created Structured Messages, which have several templates including buttons and horizontal lists.

Text Messages

You can configure your Bot to send text in your conversation:

Embedding Media

We also support the sending of Image, Video, Audio and Files. These message attachments can either be uploaded directly, with Rich Cards, or you can set an embedded URL link in the bot's message conversation.

  1. Click on the Embed widget:
  1. Type in the URL that you wis to embed:
  • Embed a Link in your response

You enter the link URL and you can also enter anchor text as a label (i.e. a hyperlink), so that your message looks tidier than just placing the URL in the chat (especially if the URL is long).

"Label_URL" feature is not supported in Facebook and Telegram, use Text Cards instead.

  • Embed an Image in your message

You cannot embed the image (as with audio and video, too) directly but have to obtain a URL for it firstly. There are lots of free websites that do this if you need to convert an image on your desktop, say, to an URL.

  • Embed an Audio file in your response

Note

Some channels may not accept embedded audio files or support a limited amount of file types. Check your bot before publishing to avoid unpleasant surprises.
For example, in Line messenger, only .m4a files can be played within the app. The rest will appear as URLs that users can open in the browser and listen to.
In Telegram, all links to embedded audio files must start with https://.
The http:// format is not supported.

  • Embed a Video in your response

Embedded media do not affect the number of Pro messages.

Buttons

Some Rich cards, as well as the Persistent Menu, support buttons that can perform different kinds of actions:

  • Blocks Button. Can be used to direct users to other interactions.
  • URL Button. Can be used to open a webpage in the in-app browser.
  • Call Button. Dials a phone number when tapped.
  • Buy Button. Opens a checkout dialog to enables purchases.
  • Share Button. Opens a share dialog in Messenger enabling people to share message bubbles with friends.

URL Button

The URL Button can be used to open a web page in the in-app browser. This button can be used with a Text Card and a Gallery Card:

Webviews Control for Facebook messenger. You can control the display height of the in-app browser window, enabling you to create experiences that look and feel like part of the Messenger Thread.

The URL Button opens a web page in the Messenger webview. This allows you to enrich the conversation with a web-based experience, where you have the full development flexibility of the web. For example, you might display a product summary in-conversation, then use the URL button to open the full product page on your website.

Call Button

The Call Button can be used to initiate a phone call:

The Buy Button opens a native checkout dialog with Paypal and allows people to share their credentials with merchants to make purchases:

Share Button

Important

The Share Button is available only on Facebook Messenger, Skype and Slack.

The Share Button opens a native share dialog and allows people to share a message bubble with their friends.

The share button allows the message recipient to share the content of a message you sent with others on Messenger. The name and icon of your Page appear as an attribution at the top of the shared content. The attribution opens a conversation with your bot when tapped.
